Initial Setup

Your first notification in 5 minutes.

Quick Start Flow

Follow these steps in order after installing Nudge:

1. Enable Notifications

On the Nudge dashboard, find the main Notifications toggle and switch it On. Nothing will display on your store until this is enabled.

2. Choose a Template

Select a notification style from the Templates section. Not sure which to pick?

  • Minimal or Bold — great starting points for most stores
  • Gradient templates — available on Growth and Pro plans for a more branded look

3. Set Your Position

Choose where the popup appears on screen. Bottom-left is the default and works well for most stores — it's visible without blocking content.

4. Configure Your Message

The default message is:

"Someone from {city} just purchased {product}"

This works out of the box. You can customize the wording, add tokens like {time_ago}, or adjust the order recency window.

5. Save

Click Save to apply your settings. Notifications will start appearing on your storefront immediately, drawing from your real recent orders.


What Happens Next

  • Nudge pulls from your store's actual order history
  • Visitors see popups based on your timing settings (default: first popup after 8 seconds)
  • You can check performance any time in Analytics →
Preview before going live

Use the Live Preview in the dashboard to see exactly how your notification looks before saving.

No recent orders?

If your store is new, notifications won't show until you have orders within your data window (default: 7 days). Place a test order to verify everything works.
